Still life photographer in Athens

Still life photography gives a product a considered place in the frame. I work with objects, food, drinks and packaging, shaping the image through light, surface, colour and proportion. The brief can focus on a single hero product photograph, a tactile detail or a related series of tabletop compositions for a brand or creative team.

Selected work

Look at the relationship between objects.

In the Roots image, a bottle, a small glass and dried wheat share a green marble setting. The Nymfes flatlays bring fabric, flowers and cosmetic packaging together, while Baransu includes food products on stone and tiled surfaces. Each offers a different way to balance the object with its surroundings, without losing the product as the main subject.

The decisions behind a tabletop image.

Light and material

Glass, metal, paper and food react differently to light. A reflective bottle needs attention to highlights and label visibility; a textured surface may benefit from stronger direction and shadow. The intended mood guides those choices. References are useful when they show the quality of light or the relationship between materials, rather than just the colour of a background.

Before shooting, we can review the actual product size, packaging finish and visible details. This helps define the required preparation and the approach to styling. Props and surfaces should support the subject; an elaborate set is useful only when it contributes to the image. Additional styling or specialist preparation is discussed where the brief requires it.

Hero images, details and variations

A commercial still life series may combine a main composition with close details or alternative arrangements. If the image will become a key visual, the layout can guide where the product sits and where typography belongs. Horizontal, square and vertical versions are planned as deliverables. Some may share a setup; others need a separate composition to keep the image balanced.

Retouching and intended use

The finished photograph should preserve the object's shape, colour and material while meeting the agreed visual direction. Retouching requirements, image selections and file specifications are discussed in the proposal. Where packaging artwork, complex reflections or compositing require additional work, that scope is made explicit. Usage for advertising, websites, printed material or social channels is agreed for the particular project.

Before the shoot

A useful still life brief.

The object

Send pictures of the products and their packaging, including dimensions and finishes. Identify the main detail to show, such as a label, texture, ingredient or distinctive shape.

The composition

Share references for light, surfaces and mood, plus any layout or text area. Explain whether the image needs to feel graphic, minimal, tactile or closer to a serving scene.

The output

Specify the number of final images, aspect ratios, deadline and intended use. Mention whether you need a single hero, supporting details, multiple products or a related short motion piece.

An object worth looking at closely.

Send the product, references and intended placement, or request a call to discuss the image. We can then assess the tabletop setup, styling requirements and final deliverables before agreeing the production.
